Albany Medical Center has been acknowledged as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces in Health Care by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group. This accolade highlights the center’s culture, integrity, and employee engagement. The evaluation process included 400,000 interviews nationwide, nearly five million company reviews, publicly available data, and an analysis of over 120 key performance indicators.

“Albany Medical Center is committed to fostering an environment where all employees feel valued, heard, and proud of the indispensable role they hold in the health of our region,” said president and CEO Dennis P. McKenna, MD. “This recognition is a celebration of our team, and the unique talents each individual brings to provide the highest level, most complete patient care, research, and education to our communities.”

The center employs more than 10,000 individuals across up to 920 positions in both clinical and non-clinical areas. Its workforce includes people from around 80 different countries representing diverse races, genders, religions across five generations. Last year’s recognition by Newsweek as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity was attributed to these statistics.

Newsweek Editor-in-Chief Jennifer H. Cunningham stated that employee engagement is crucial in the healthcare industry. “These companies demonstrate exceptional commitment to creating a workplace that promotes both employee and client satisfaction at the highest level,” she said. “And with higher employee engagement comes a range of benefits.”
