New York Attorney General Letitia James has urged current and former DoorDash delivery workers to file claims for a $16.75 million settlement by September 30, 2025. The settlement follows an investigation by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), which found that DoorDash misled both consumers and delivery workers regarding tips meant for Dashers.
Attorney General James emphasized the importance of filing claims, stating, “New York’s delivery workers are integral to our communities, working tirelessly to bring food and other essentials directly to our doorsteps in all conditions.” She added that she is committed to ensuring transparency in DoorDash’s payment practices and urged eligible Dashers who have received notice of the settlement from Atticus Administration to submit their claims online before the deadline.
The settlement requires DoorDash to revise its payment practices, enhance transparency for customers and Dashers, and improve order history access. Eligible recipients include those who delivered for DoorDash in New York between May 2017 and September 2019 and had tips applied to their guaranteed pay. The OAG’s investigation revealed that during this period, DoorDash used a guaranteed pay model where customer tips subsidized the guaranteed pay instead of being added on top.
Approximately 63,000 eligible Dashers have been notified via mail, email, or text about how to file a claim. Any Dasher facing issues with filing can contact Atticus Administration directly or reach out through provided contact details for further assistance.
