Donna Marano, the President of the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition for Long Island (WIBCC), is recognized for her efforts in supporting individuals affected by breast cancer and promoting community awareness. Having served on the Board of Directors for many years, she took on her current role in 2022. Under her guidance, WIBCC has maintained its mission to assist those undergoing treatment and advocate for cancer awareness through educational programs and outreach initiatives. The annual Clam Shucking fundraiser, a tradition for 31 years, draws over 400 attendees each August.
Ms. Marano, from West Islip, New York, brings a wealth of experience from her corporate background into her community leadership roles. With more than three decades in corporate management and organizational development, she applies these skills to her philanthropic activities.
Beyond WIBCC, Ms. Marano is an active member of the Women of West Islip (WOWI), focusing on local initiatives and recognizing women’s contributions within the community. For eight years, she has worked administratively with the Copiague Fire District and volunteers with the Firefighter Cancer Support Network. In this role, she assembles materials for firefighters diagnosed with cancer and coordinates their distribution across North America.
Her participation extends to various fundraising efforts benefiting breast cancer patients and other local causes. Through professional expertise combined with dedicated volunteerism, Ms. Marano significantly impacts her community by inspiring others to engage in meaningful service.
