Diesel gas was sold at the lowest price of $4.99 per gallon at two gas stations in Schenectady County during the week ending Mar. 28, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
Countywide, diesel gas averaged $5.39 per gallon.
Of the 72 reported gas stations located within Schenectady County, 29 offered diesel gas.
Across New York, the average reported price for a gallon of diesel gas rose to $5.53, compared to the week before.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration expects global oil stockpiles to keep growing into 2026, a trend that could weigh on crude prices in the near term.
