U.S. Representative Elise Stefanik has announced the winner of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. The honor goes to Janeiah Pagan, a 10th-grade student at Broadalbin-Perth Jr./Sr. High School.
Janeiah’s artwork, a watercolor painting titled “Skimming the Surface,” features a koi fish moving through a pond with lily pads. Congresswoman Stefanik remarked on the painting: “Janeiah’s stunning watercolor painting, titled ‘Skimming the Surface,’ captures the graceful motion of a koi fish swimming through a serene pond beneath vibrant lily pads.”
Stefanik expressed her pride in congratulating Janeiah on her accomplishment: “This week, I was proud to call and congratulate Broadalbin-Perth Jr./Sr. High School student Janeiah Pagan for winning this year’s Congressional Art Competition,” she said. “Her painting exemplifies the creativity, skill, and artistry that are so prevalent in the North Country. We are incredibly proud of her achievement, and I look forward to seeing her work displayed in the U.S. Capitol for all to admire.”
