In an interview with Larry Kudlow on Fox News, House Republican Leadership Chairwoman Elise Stefanik expressed her views on Harvard University’s alleged failure to protect Jewish students and discussed the House Republicans’ efforts to advance President Trump’s agenda.
Stefanik criticized Harvard for what she described as a lack of action against rising antisemitism on campus, stating, “This is the epitome of entitlement that you’re seeing by Harvard.” She linked this perceived entitlement to a broader trend of antisemitism following events that occurred after October 7, two years prior. Stefanik remarked that Harvard, among other universities, did not adequately condemn such behavior, which she argued contributed to the removal of Harvard’s president, who was also embroiled in a plagiarism scandal.
Stefanik argued for the defunding of Harvard due to its refusal to adhere to the Trump Administration’s Department of Education requirements, emphasizing that American taxpayer dollars should not support institutions that fail to protect civil rights. Referencing President Trump’s decisions, she noted, “They get $9 billion. President Trump has paused 2.2 billion already, more to come.” She emphasized the role of Congress in overseeing these expenditures.
She also voiced concerns about the faculty’s political leanings, suggesting they are promoting “radical, far left ideas” and claimed that protests on campus were akin to riots, stating that participants were “physically destroying property as well as physically assaulting students.”
Transitioning to House leadership and policies, Stefanik expressed commitment to continuing President Trump’s policies in Congress, particularly in areas such as tax reforms. “Reconciliation has to pass the House, and we are committed to cutting taxes and making sure that we build on the success of President Trump’s tremendous economic policy,” she said.
Expressing optimism about the passage of these agendas, Stefanik noted, “The good news Larry, is President Trump is the master economic messenger.” She highlighted ambitions for tax reforms such as “No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Social Security” and extending tax cuts, stating her confidence in the House Republican majority to enact these plans.
Stefanik, who recently returned to House Republican Leadership, reiterated her dedication to communicating the Republican agenda and fulfilling promises aligned with President Trump’s objectives.
