New York State Senator Alexis Weik recently organized a successful diaper drive to benefit the Allied Foundation Diaper Bank, collecting a substantial amount of essential items for families in need. Senator Weik expressed her gratitude towards the community for their generous donations, stating, "Members of our communities are still struggling with inflation, the expense of basic goods, such as diapers, has skyrocketed."

Heather Edwards, the Executive Director of The Allied Foundation, emphasized the critical impact of diaper need on low-income families, stating, "Babies from low-income households that cannot afford diapers are at the greatest risk of several health and safety concerns." She praised Senator Weik and the community for their efforts in providing clean and dry diapers to families across Long Island.

The Allied Foundation, Long Island's sole Diaper Bank, has been dedicated to supporting families in crisis by collecting, purchasing, and distributing diapers through a network of non-profit partners. Heather Edwards highlighted the importance of addressing diaper need, stating, "Diaper need impacts the physical, mental and economic well-being of children and families across the region."

Since its establishment in 2019, the Allied Foundation has distributed an impressive 2.9 million diapers, benefiting over 300,000 families. To support the foundation or make a donation, individuals can visit their website at https://alliedfoundation.org/give/donate-diapers/.
