City of Troy, NY recently issued the following announcement.
Department of Public Works officials have announced that municipal garbage and recycling will be collected on a modified schedule during the week of September 7th – 11th. The modified collection schedule is due to the Labor Day holiday.
Regular garbage and recycling collection will occur on the day following residents’ normal collection day (ex. households that normally receive collection on Monday will have their garbage & recycling picked up on Tuesday). The normal collection schedule will resume Monday, September 14th.
The updated garbage & recycling collection for the week of September 7th – 12th is as follows:

Mayor Madden reminds residents and property owners to keep sidewalks adjacent to their property free of obstacles when placing garbage and recycling bins out for collection. Your cooperation and assistance will help keep our community accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
Additionally, residents are reminded that 2nd installment payments of the solid waste collection fee is due Wednesday, September 30th. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, payments cannot be completed in-person at City Hall. Payments can be completed online at www.troyny.gov/pay
