Assemblyman Scott Bendett took part in a gathering at the Capitol to honor Vietnam veterans. Bendett was joined by lawmakers, veterans, and community members in a day dedicated to the recognition of those who served during the Vietnam War. The event featured William Rohrer from Valatie and John Brownrigg from Sand Lake, both acknowledged for their bravery and dedication.

During the ceremony, Bendett stated, "Vietnam Veterans Day is a solemn and significant occasion to express our deepest gratitude to the men and women who answered the call to serve." He highlighted the examples set by Rohrer and Brownrigg, saying, "Their service to our country, both in uniform and in their communities, will never be forgotten."

Vietnam Veterans Day highlights the resilience and patriotism of veterans who served in the Vietnam War. This day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by service members who often did not receive proper recognition upon their return. The event reaffirmed a commitment to honoring these sacrifices and preserving their legacy.

Bendett said, “Our Vietnam veterans endured tremendous challenges, both in battle and upon returning home.” He emphasized the importance of supporting veterans, ensuring their stories are shared and respected.

Bendett continues to focus on supporting veterans and their families through various legislative efforts and community initiatives intended to provide them with the necessary care and recognition.
