Albany Detectives Arrest Man with Drugs, Stolen Handgun
Albany detectives arrested a 31-year-old Albany man who was in possession of drugs and a stolen handgun Friday afternoon on Central Avenue.
On Friday, October 21, 2022 around 1:35 p.m., detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Community Response Unit stopped Jaiquan Brown on Central Avenue just east of Henry Johnson Boulevard in reference to an ongoing investigation. During the investigation, Brown was found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine which he had concealed in his pants.
A .25 caliber handgun, reported stolen in April of 2012 out of Wilson, North Carolina, was also recovered during the investigation.
Brown has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th.
He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
