Albany Detectives Recover Handguns, Drugs During Separate Investigations

Albany detectives conducting two separate investigations on Southern Boulevard Wednesday recovered three loaded handguns as well as various narcotics. 

On Wednesday, December 7, 2022 around 10:05 a.m., detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Community Response Unit and members of United States Marshals Services Regional Fugitive Task Force executed a search warrant at 168 Southern Boulevard in reference to an ongoing investigation. During the search warrant, detectives recovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun from inside the residence. 

Lawrence Badi, 33, of Albany has been charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd. 

At approximately 7:30 p.m., detectives from the Community Response Unit executed a separate search warrant at 58 Southern Boulevard in reference to a separate narcotics investigation. During their investigation, detectives recovered both a 9mm handgun and a .45 caliber handgun. They also recovered a large quantity of crack cocaine, fentanyl and heroin. 

Tahshiron Gaddy, 31, and Raushan Richardson, 33, both of Albany, were each charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, two counts of Criminal Possession 3rd, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd and two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd. 

All three were arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
