80.5% of Rensselaer County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 161,125 citizens living in Rensselaer County in 2021, 80.5% were old enough to vote, equating to 129,637 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 63,865 were male, constituting 49.3%, and 65,772 were female, making up 50.7%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Rensselaer County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 79%.
