Davie, FL - Congresswoman Elise Stefanik was honored with the “Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Defender of Israel Award” at the Zionist Organization of America’s “Heroes of Israel” gala. Dr. Miriam Adelson presented the award to Representative Stefanik, who delivered remarks during the event.
Dr. Miriam Adelson, while presenting the award, praised Stefanik's dedication and courage, saying, "There are many occasions on which I wish Sheldon was standing beside me — this is one of them. Another was a few months back when I watched with delight as Representative Stefanik exposed the hypocrisy of the presidents of allegedly elite universities who had allowed antisemitism on their campuses."
She continued by highlighting Stefanik's commitment to American interests, stating, "I recognized immediately that this is a young woman, very young, with the mettle of generations past, the vision to spot injustice, and the courage to call it out."
In her acceptance speech, Congresswoman Stefanik expressed her gratitude for the honor, saying, "It is truly a tremendous honor to be with you today and it is incredibly humbling to accept the Defender of Israel Award from Dr. Adelson."
Stefanik also emphasized the importance of supporting Israel during challenging times, stating, "Our most precious ally Israel and the Jewish people are in need of crucial support from the grassroots level all the way up to the highest levels of government."
She further reiterated her commitment to standing with Israel, declaring, "Anyone that does not stand with our ally Israel, stands for their genocide."
Stefanik concluded her remarks by affirming the United States' unwavering support for Israel, stating, "The world must know the United States stands with Israel today, tomorrow, and forever."
The event, which honored Congresswoman Stefanik for her dedication to Israel and her efforts in combating antisemitism, served as a platform to reaffirm the strong bond between the United States and Israel in the face of ongoing challenges.
