House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik has emphasized the importance of unleashing American energy in the face of what she describes as Joe Biden's detrimental energy policies. Speaking at the kickoff of Energy Week, Stefanik criticized the Biden administration for its actions that have led to a rise in energy prices and a reliance on foreign adversaries for energy sources.
Stefanik pointed out the impact of Biden's decisions on American families, stating, “From the gas station to the grocery store, American families are hurting. Gas prices are once again on the rise.” She highlighted the significant increase in utility and heating costs in her district in Upstate New York, attributing it to the administration's energy policies.
The Chairwoman emphasized the need to prioritize American energy production and ensure energy security, stating, “Republicans know that we need to unleash American energy, not restrict it. It’s vital that we ensure America's energy dominance and provide true energy security.” Stefanik also referenced the success of pro-American energy policies under former President Donald Trump, which she believes led the nation to thrive as a world energy leader.
During Energy Week, Stefanik was joined by her colleagues Congressman Dan Newhouse and Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger. Newhouse is leading a resolution denouncing what he sees as anti-American energy policies under the Biden administration, while Harshbarger's work on the House Energy and Commerce Committee focuses on opposing these policies.
