Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has announced the successful passage of the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, which allocates significant funding for New York’s 21st Congressional District. In a statement, Stefanik highlighted her efforts to secure vital investments for various programs in Upstate New York and the North Country.
Stefanik emphasized her commitment to representing the interests of her constituents, stating, “I'm proud to deliver hundreds of millions of dollars for NY-21 through this year’s appropriations process, while reining in reckless spending on Biden’s Far Left initiatives like his army of IRS agents and ban on gas stoves."
The appropriations package includes key wins for conservatives, such as directing resources to address staffing issues at the Northern Border, funding for border technology, and provisions to prohibit federal funds from being used for abortion. Additionally, the package includes significant defense funding aimed at bolstering military capabilities in Upstate New York and the North Country.
Among the defense wins secured by Stefanik are increases in funding for the Air Force Research Lab in Rome, support for the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, and provisions to strengthen U.S.-Israel defense cooperation. The package also includes funding for various programs to support servicemembers and their families, as well as investments in NY-21 communities for postsecondary education, nutrition programs, and healthcare services.
The appropriations act also allocates funds for State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs, including support for organizations like the International Joint Commission, the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, and the National Endowment for Democracy.
