In a recent development, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, along with Congressman Anthony D’Esposito and Congressman Marc Molinaro, have penned a letter addressed to President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, urging the Biden Administration to take a stand against the issuance of arrest warrants for Israeli officials by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The lawmakers expressed their concerns about the potential consequences of such warrants, stating that they would undermine Israel's right to self-defense and pose a threat to officials in democracies worldwide who are actively engaged in combating terrorism. They emphasized that the accusations of war crimes against Israeli officials are unfounded, citing the low civilian casualty ratio in the Gaza Strip during ongoing operations.

According to the letter, the United States must exert pressure on the ICC to prevent the issuance of arrest warrants for Israeli government members. The lawmakers suggested that the ICC should focus its resources on prosecuting the leadership of terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip, who have been documented engaging in war crimes.

Furthermore, the lawmakers called on the Biden Administration to stand in solidarity with Israel and reject any attempts to execute the arrest warrants. They urged for severe consequences to be imposed on those involved in what they referred to as a "sham prosecution." The letter concluded with a request for a prompt response and immediate action from the administration.

The full text of the letter can be accessed on the official website of Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.
