House Republican Conference Chairwoman and Senior Member of the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, Elise Stefanik, has issued a statement regarding the subcommittee's request for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and prosecutor Matthew Colangelo to testify. The focus is on what she describes as the "unprecedented political prosecution" of former President Donald Trump.

Stefanik stated, "The unprecedented illegal weaponization of our justice system is dangerous and fundamentally unAmerican. The American people understand that the sole purpose of this sham corrupt trial in NY was to target Joe Biden’s top political opponent, President Donald J. Trump." She further emphasized her commitment to working with Chairman Jim Jordan and her House Republican colleagues to hold accountable those she referred to as "Joe Biden’s corrupt political henchmen."

The request for testimony comes amid heightened scrutiny and partisan debate over legal actions involving high-profile political figures.
