Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Elise Stefanik voted to pass the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, aimed at securing both the Northern and Southern Borders and enhancing resources for Border Patrol Agents.

“During my recent visit to the Northern Border in Champlain, New York, I saw firsthand how our brave Border Patrol agents and CBP officers are working hard to keep our communities safe despite being put last under Joe Biden’s failed Far Left open border agenda. That’s why I was proud to vote to pass the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act to secure our Northern and Southern Borders and make sure our hardworking Border Patrol agents and CBP officers are supported and equipped with the tools and resources necessary to keep our country safe,” said Congresswoman Elise Stefanik. ”This legislation is imperative as we continue to see record illegal crossings at the Northern Border. House Republicans are delivering for the American people and working to make sure our communities and families are kept safe.”

Key elements of the bill include:

- Directing the Department of Homeland Security to prioritize deployment of Border Patrol Agents along the Northern Border.

- Allocating $600 million for construction of a border wall on the Southern Border.

- Providing funding for 22,000 Border Patrol Agents and $300 million for border security technology.

- Allocating $4.1 billion for custody operations, including funding 50,000 detention beds.

- Providing $822 million for transportation and removal operations for removable aliens.

- Preventing funding from advancing critical race theory or equity action plans.

- Allocating $305 million for physical security enhancements through the Nonprofit Security Grant Program.

- Prohibiting government labeling of constitutionally protected speech as “misinformation.”

- Prohibiting funding for abortions or gender-affirming care for ICE detainees.
