Saratoga, N.Y. - Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has announced the delivery of federal disaster relief funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to aid New York communities in Essex, Hamilton, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties. These areas were severely affected by flooding caused by heavy wind and rain on July 10th and 11th.

“As the Representative of the New York counties most impacted by the disastrous July 10th storms, I am proud to announce this significant result of significant federal funding from FEMA for our local communities impacted,” said Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (NY-21).

This funding follows Stefanik’s persistent advocacy efforts. In August 2024, she sent a letter to New York Governor Kathy Hochul urging her to request a Presidential disaster declaration from FEMA after witnessing the severe damage in her district. Stefanik further pressed for federal support with an additional request to the Biden-Harris Administration.
