Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan announced that the city has been awarded $10 million for the Lincoln Park Pool as part of the NY SWIMS funding in the New York State budget. The construction of the pool is currently underway, with a goal to open on July 4, 2025.

The new Lincoln Park Pool will feature several amenities including a zero-entry pool (10,000 sq. ft.) with in-water spray features, a 10-lane half-size Olympic lap pool (5,620 sq. ft.), a splash pad (6,000 sq. ft.), a water slide, restrooms and shade pavilions, and a picnic patio.

Mayor Sheehan stated, “The Lincoln Park Pool is a staple within the City of Albany, and I would like to thank the State and the Governor’s Office for recognizing the critical role this pool plays in our community, and helping to fund its rehabilitation. As summers continue to get hotter, and the effects of climate change become more significant, it is important to ensure residents are able to stay cool. Through community resources like pools and splash pads, we can do that in a way that is also fun. I look forward to seeing you all at the pool upon its completion! I also want to thank Senator Breslin, Assemblymember Fahy, and Assemblymember McDonald for securing the NY SWIMS funding in the New York State budget.”
