Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has been honored with the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF)’s “Friend of Farm Bureau” award, recognizing her commitment to advocating for farmers at the highest levels of government.
This prestigious accolade is presented to Congress members nominated by their state Farm Bureaus and approved by the AFBF Board of Directors.
“I am honored to receive the Friend of Farm Bureau Award in recognition of my advocacy for the essential needs of our incredibly hardworking farmers, growers, and producers in Upstate New York and the North Country,” said Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.
She highlighted her recent legislative efforts, including her vote for the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act to ensure access to both flavored and unflavored whole milk in schools. Additionally, she introduced the Protecting Mothers and Infants’ Access to Milk Act to counteract restrictions imposed by the administration on WIC families regarding milk and dairy products. Furthermore, her Consistent Egg Labels Act aims to protect egg producers by addressing the issue of imitation egg products mislabeled as "egg."
“Elise Stefanik is a tireless advocate for farmers in the North Country, who are an essential part of our state’s economy and culture,” remarked New York Farm Bureau President David Fisher. “Her leadership on key agricultural issues like labor, trade and government regulation speaks for itself. These accomplishments make her a deserving recipient of American Farm Bureau Federation's Friend of Farm Bureau Award.”
