House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik and her colleagues emphasized the differences between policies under President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. Stefanik pointed out what she described as successful America First Republican policies during Trump's tenure, contrasting them with what she called the failed record of Harris over the past four years.
“This November will be the most important election in our lifetime. As we head home to our districts this October, House Republicans will continue to highlight the stark contrast between the successes of President Trump and the America First Republican policies with the catastrophic failed four year record of Kamala Harris and Far Left Democrat leadership,” Stefanik stated.
Stefanik criticized Harris for her tie-breaking vote on the Inflation Expansion Act, attributing current high inflation rates to this decision. She also mentioned issues such as illegal immigration and global instability as results of what she termed "failed leadership" by Harris and far-left Democrats.
“The contrast has never been clearer. American families were better off under the successful America First policies of President Trump," said Stefanik. She advocated for strong Republican leadership in Washington, including a Republican Senate, House, and presidency to implement these policies again.
Stefanik also highlighted upcoming legislative efforts by House Republicans aimed at addressing crime. “On the floor this week, we are continuing to fight the failed Democrat agenda and we are joined today by Congressman Scott Fitzgerald of Wisconsin to discuss his legislation, the Keeping Violent Offenders Off Our Streets Act,” she said. This act aims to counteract what she describes as soft-on-crime policies from Harris and far-left Democrats that have contributed to a national crime crisis.
