House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik has issued a statement regarding the recent elimination of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar by Israel.
"Today is a historic day of justice for the Jewish people, the state of Israel, and humanity worldwide. Yahya Sinwar, an embodiment of pure evil and the barbarian leader of Hamas who was the mastermind of the October 7th atrocities has been eliminated," Stefanik said.
Stefanik highlighted that during Sinwar's attack on October 7th, Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists killed over 1,200 civilians, including 46 Americans. Additionally, they took more than 250 Israeli civilians hostage, with over 100 still in captivity.
She asserted that Israel's action against Sinwar has enhanced global safety by removing a terrorist leader who aimed to destroy both Israel and the United States. "Israel has every right to continue to eliminate the Iranian-backed terrorist organization, secure the release of every hostage, and protect their sovereignty," she added.
Stefanik emphasized the importance of U.S. support for Israel as it fights for its existence and stands as a symbol of democracy and freedom in the Middle East.
