Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has issued a statement in response to a report by the Washington Free Beacon. The report, which stems from an investigation by the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), alleges that Harvard University has been involved in facilitating Communist China's transnational repression on its campus.

Stefanik expressed her concerns, stating, "Once again, Harvard has proven to be completely corrupted by adversarial foreign influence. Harvard is kowtowing to Communist China and as a senior member of the House Education and the Workforce Committee I will continue working to root out foreign control over our college campuses." She emphasized the importance of preventing American educational institutions from becoming tools for Communist China's agenda.

John Moolenaar, Chairman of the Select Committee on the CCP, also commented on the situation. He criticized Harvard's handling of protestors, saying, "This is yet another example of Harvard’s appallingly unequal treatment of protestors based on the speech they support." Moolenaar highlighted incidents where students protesting against CCP human rights abuses were allegedly punished while those who assaulted them faced no consequences.

Virginia Foxx, Chairwoman of the Education and Workforce Committee, echoed these sentiments. She remarked on what she perceives as selective disciplinary standards at Harvard: "I wish I could say I was surprised, but this is par for the course for Harvard – the only consistent part of the university’s disciplinary standards is that they’re always applied selectively to the benefit of favored groups."

The statements reflect ongoing concerns about foreign influence within American universities and call for accountability measures against such infiltration.
