Paul Tonko, a U.S. Congressman representing New York's 20th district, recently shared several tweets highlighting local achievements and businesses in the Capital Region. These posts celebrate notable individuals and enterprises that have made significant contributions to their communities.

On November 26, 2024, Paul Tonko acknowledged Chef Aneesa for receiving recognition from the Small Business Administration as New York State’s 2024 Small Business Person of the Year. He expressed confidence in her continued success and growth, stating: "This March, Chef Aneesa received a richly deserved recognition from @sbagov as New York State’s 2024 Small Business Person of the Year – and I know she will continue to do our region proud as her brand continues to grow."

Later that day, Tonko visited Alchar Printing during his Capital Region #SmallBusinessSaturday tour. He highlighted its longstanding service since 1968: "Great to continue my Capital Region #SmallBusinessSaturday tour in Troy today with a stop at Alchar Printing, a locally owned union print shop that has been serving our Capital Region’s printing needs since 1968."

Additionally, he praised Denise Padula for her leadership at Alchar Printing since taking over in 2006. Her efforts were recognized when she was named the 2024 Woman Owned Small Business Owner of the Year by the SBA Upstate NY District Office: "Denise Padula has worked tirelessly to expand and enhance Alchar’s services since she took over the business in 2006, and those efforts were rewarded earlier this year as the @sbagov Upstate NY District Office named Denise the 2024 Woman Owned Small Business Owner of the Year!"
