Paul Tonko, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 20th district, shared his views on various issues through a series of tweets. Tonko has been a congressional representative since 2009 and previously served in the New York State Assembly. He graduated from Clarkson University with a Bachelor of Science degree.

On February 19, 2025, Tonko expressed concern over budget cuts affecting Alzheimer's research and support programs. He stated, "We’ve made massive strides in the fight against Alzheimer’s, but Trump and Musk’s reckless cuts threaten to unravel much of that vital work." Tonko emphasized the importance of supporting individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their families.

On February 20, 2025, Tonko responded to former President Trump's actions following President's Day. In his tweet, he remarked, "Hell no. President’s Day was only 3 days ago, but Trump seems to have already forgotten." He reminded that no president is above the rule of law and stressed accountability to the American people.

Later that day, Tonko expressed gratitude towards constituents who participated in his town hall event. He tweeted, "Thank you to all those who showed up, tuned in, and made their voices heard last night at my town hall event!" The congressman encouraged those unable to attend live to watch the recorded session.
