Albany Police Investigating Shooting Incident
Albany police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning on Washington Avenue.
On Sunday, August 21, 2022 around 4:10 a.m., officers responded to the area of Washington Avenue and Quail Street for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located evidence consistent with gunshots and a 26-year-old man who sustained a graze wound to the neck.
The victim was evaluated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and refused any further medical treatment.
Shortly after the call, an 18-year-old man was located at the State University of New York at Albany’s uptown campus with graze wounds sustained during the same shooting incident that had just occurred at Washington Avenue and Quail Street.
He was treated by emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with what appear to be minor injuries.
