Parolee with History of Weapons Possession and Menacing Charged Again Friday for Pointing a Loaded Handgun at a Man on South Pearl Street
9mm Handgun Recovered During Investigation
A 44-year-old parolee who was just arrested last year for handgun possession and endangering the welfare of a child, was arrested again on Friday for pointing a loaded handgun at an individual on South Pearl Street.
On Friday, November 11, 2022 around 11:00 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of South Pearl Street for reports of a person with a handgun. Upon arrival, officers learned that Marcus Roberts had just pointed a loaded handgun at another individual while at that location.
Roberts was taken into custody near the scene by responding officers and a loaded 9mm handgun was located during the investigation.
Roberts was charged with one count of Menacing 2nd and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd.
He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
Roberts was arrested for a similar menacing incident last October on South Pearl Street where the victim told officers he pointed a loaded handgun at her during a domestic related incident while she was with her 10-year-old son.
Roberts was charged with Menacing 2nd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th and Endangering the Welfare of a Child for his role in the October 2021 incident.
