BETA Technologies' manufacturing and production facility is located in Plattsburgh, New York.
Beta Technologies has received a significant boost in funding with a $20 million increase from the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, as reported by the Press Republican. NY-21 Congresswoman Elise Stefanik expressed, “This is a big win,” highlighting the positive impact of the funding on Beta Technologies' operations in Plattsburgh.
Jake Goldman, a spokesperson for BETA Technologies, emphasized the importance of programs like Agility Prime in advancing electric aviation domestically and reducing reliance on foreign technologies. He stated, “Programs like Agility Prime are critical to ensuring companies like BETA can continue progressing electric aviation toward domestic manufacturing and operations, which will translate to reduced dependence on foreign technologies and more robust capabilities.”
The Chairperson of the Clinton County Legislature, Mark Henry, commended Congresswoman Stefanik for her dedication to economic development and national security, stating, “Today, we extend our gratitude to Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for her unwavering commitment to our community’s economic development and national security.”
Addressing the challenges faced by border patrol officers, Congresswoman Stefanik highlighted the importance of funding in the appropriations bill to address personnel shortages at both the southern and northern borders. She expressed concern over the impact of the border crisis on national security, the economy, and community safety, stating, “The border crisis is having an impact on our national security, our economy and our community safety.”
Moreover, the appropriations bill includes a $25 million funding increase for the Air Force Research Lab in Rome, benefiting the annual Future Flag testing and evaluation exercise conducted in the Town of Lewis in Essex County. Stefanik emphasized the strong national defense partnerships in the North Country, from Essex County to Rome, Fort Drum, and the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base.
