Congresswoman Elise Stefanik recently appeared on Fox News with Martha MacCallum to discuss the disturbing events at Columbia University where a pro-Hamas, antisemitic mob took over an academic building. Stefanik emphasized the importance of protecting Jewish students and holding universities accountable for fostering an environment that enables antisemitism.

During the interview, Stefanik criticized university presidents for their lack of action in protecting Jewish students and condemning antisemitism. She highlighted the failures of Harvard, Penn, and Columbia University leaders in addressing the rise of antisemitism on their campuses. Stefanik expressed disappointment in the universities' responses, stating, "We have not seen those schools step up to protect Jewish students." She also called out Columbia University President Shafik for allowing the pro-Hamas mob to take over a historic building on campus, stating, "our schools are in a crisis across America."

Stefanik further addressed the issue of student protestors attending college on a student visa, advocating for their deportation. She condemned the actions of the pro-Hamas mob, stating, "They are calling for genocide against Jews, around the world, and in America. It is unthinkable that we are allowing this to happen at U.S. universities."

The Congresswoman also criticized universities for failing to support Jewish students and emphasized the need for congressional intervention. She highlighted the billions of dollars in taxpayer funds that support these institutions and stressed the importance of standing up against antisemitism. Stefanik called out the universities for their hypocrisy in defending freedom of speech only when it comes to hateful rhetoric against Jews.

In response to the lack of action from university leaders, Stefanik announced a congressional investigation into the issue, focusing on federal funding, foreign student visas, and foreign funding to ensure accountability. She reiterated her commitment to combatting antisemitism and standing up for what is morally right.
