House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik appeared on Fox & Friends from Milwaukee to discuss the United States Secret Service's handling of an incident involving former President Donald Trump.

Stefanik emphasized the need for transparency and accountability, stating, "Number one, the American people deserve answers, the president deserves answers. It's really about transparency and accountability for the American people."

She expressed her dissatisfaction with the current director of the Secret Service, saying, "I have called for the resignation of the director of the Secret Service. She has not been fulsome in providing 100 percent transparency. We had to subpoena her to appear before Congress."

Stefanik criticized the necessity of a subpoena, asserting that such information should be provided voluntarily: "We shouldn't have to subpoena. They should be voluntarily providing absolute details as to what went wrong so that it never happens again."

Describing the incident as an assassination attempt on a former President and a potential future President, Stefanik highlighted numerous security flaws: "This was an assassination attempt on a former President and the candidate who is likely to be the next President of the United States; there were so many security flaws."

The director is expected to comply with the subpoena and testify before the House Oversight Committee on Monday. Stefanik stated that they must provide detailed answers: "They have to answer some very, very tough questions. And they better come with details because otherwise, it's unacceptable to the American people."
