Paul Tonko, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York's 20th district since 2009, has recently shared several updates on social media regarding his legislative activities and community engagements. Tonko, who succeeded Michael McNulty in Congress and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1983 to 2007, continues to address issues pertinent to his constituents.

On March 11, 2025, Paul Tonko announced via Twitter that he is hosting a press conference to reintroduce legislation aimed at addressing sports gambling. "I'm hosting a press conference to reintroduce my SAFE Bet Act to address sports gambling."

The following day, March 12, 2025, Tonko informed his followers about an upcoming event designed to provide direct assistance to residents. He tweeted: "Next Wednesday, 3/19 from 2 PM to 5 PM, my office is hosting Mobile Office Hours at the Cheney Library in Hoosick Falls! If you're in the area and have questions about federal services or need assistance with a federal agency, I welcome you to stop by and speak with my staff!"

Later on March 12, Paul Tonko expressed opposition towards proposals affecting educational infrastructure. He stated: "Eliminating the Department of Education won’t improve efficiency or lower rising costs. It will mean less support for teachers and students, and our most vulnerable children will suffer the most. I'm fighting against Trump's unlawful actions that endanger our kids' future."
