Paul Tonko, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York's 20th district since 2009, has been active on social media discussing various issues. Born in Amsterdam, New York, in 1949, Tonko has a long history of public service and holds a BS from Clarkson University.

On March 25, 2025, Paul Tonko addressed the issue of wage disparity in the Capital Region. He stated that "In our Capital Region, women are paid just 80 cents for every dollar paid to a man – more than $11K in lost wages every year. That’s why I’m proud to sponsor the Paycheck Fairness Act to close the wage gap and ensure everyone can contribute equally to our economy." This statement was made on Equal Pay Day as part of his advocacy for the Paycheck Fairness Act.

On March 26, 2025, Tonko posted another tweet expressing concern over security matters by calling for action against an individual named Hegseth. He tweeted: "These are war plans. Fire Hegseth now."

Later that day, he issued a statement regarding developments in Gaza. The post simply read: "My statement regarding recent developments in Gaza: https://t.co/Td1FAz40S1" indicating ongoing attention to international affairs.
