Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Senator Joni Ernst have reintroduced legislation named the Tracking Receipts to Adversarial Countries for Knowledge of Spending (TRACKS) Act. This bill focuses on the transparency of government grants and contracts that involve entities in countries considered a concern to the United States, including China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran.

Congresswoman Stefanik emphasized the importance of this legislation by stating, "My legislation will ensure hardworking taxpayer dollars are not funding our adversaries including Communist China as they work against American interests." She criticized the handling of American funds under the previous administration and aligned with efforts to eliminate wasteful government spending.

Senator Ernst underscored a similar sentiment with her comment, "Americans should never send a cent to China. But you cannot stop what you cannot see. I am exposing every single tax dollar sent overseas to scrutinize and halt all wasteful spending."

The proposed law requires detailed reporting and public disclosure of funding sent to foreign entities, allowing for better oversight and accountability. The collected data will include information on the dollar amount, where it is sent, and the purpose of the funding, and will be made accessible online to the American public.
