Forbes has recognized Albany Medical Center as one of the best employers in New York State. This recognition is based on a survey conducted with over 160,000 employees from large companies across the United States.

The survey was a collaborative effort between Forbes and Statista Inc., a statistics portal and industry ranking provider. Participants from various business sectors, including health care and social services, were asked about their likelihood to recommend their current employer to others. Additionally, data was collected from similar surveys involving friends and family of employees or those working in related industries.

Albany Med Health System President and CEO Dennis P. McKenna, MD expressed pride in the workforce's contribution to the institution's mission. “Our workforce makes our mission possible,” he stated. He emphasized that more than 10,000 colleagues fill over 900 roles essential for providing high-quality patient care, research, and education. "This best-in-state designation recognizes the value held by each and every member of our team," McKenna added.

Albany Medical Center has shown commitment to its workforce through significant investments aimed at growth and support. Over half of its budget is allocated to salaries and benefits, offering numerous wellness programs along with career opportunities in both clinical and nonclinical areas.

Earlier this year, Albany Medical Center received recognition as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity 2024 by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group. This acknowledgment highlighted its diverse work environment through confidential online surveys among U.S. company employees alongside assessments involving publicly accessible data.
