Albany Medical Center welcomes new vascular surgeon Dr. Amanda Kistler

Amanda Kistler, MD, has joined Albany Medical Center's Division of Vascular Surgery. She has also been appointed as an assistant professor of surgery at Albany Medical College.

Dr. Kistler is known for treating complex vascular conditions such as peripheral arterial disease, abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms, peripheral aneurysms, carotid artery disease, thrombosis, end-stage renal disease, and venous insufficiency. Her expertise includes both open and minimally invasive procedures.

Before this role, Dr. Kistler was an assistant professor of vascular surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed her integrated vascular residency training at Albany Medical Center and earned her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Ohio.

Her contributions to the field include authoring and co-authoring articles in respected journals like the Journal of Vascular Surgery and two book chapters. She is affiliated with professional organizations such as the Society for Vascular Surgery, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, and the New England Society for Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Kistler will be available for consultations at Albany Medical Center’s Vascular Surgery Office located at 391 Myrtle Ave., Albany, and at the Vascular and Pediatric Specialty Care Center in Kingston at 117 Mary’s Ave., Suite 202. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 518-262-5640.
