Paul Tonko, a U.S. Congressman representing New York's 20th district, has been vocal about various issues through his recent tweets. Known for his service in Congress since 2009 and prior experience in the New York State Assembly, Tonko continues to engage with both national matters and local communities.

On March 17, 2025, Paul Tonko expressed his concerns regarding the misuse of an "18th century statute" by former President Trump. He stated that "The U.S. is not at war – invoking this 18th century statute is a staggering abuse of power that Trump is using to flout due process and wrongfully paint all immigrants as criminals."

Later on the same day, Tonko shared his engagement with young students at Mohonasen High School. He tweeted, "This morning, I was honored to join the junior and senior classes at Mohonasen High School to answer their insightful questions and learn more about the issues that matter to young people across our Capital Region." He thanked the school for hosting him.

On March 18, 2025, he reflected on a town hall event held in Schenectady where he interacted with constituents. Tonko appreciated their participation by stating "I’m so grateful to all of you who showed up, tuned in, and made your voices heard last night at my Town Hall event in Schenectady." He emphasized that these insights will guide him as he opposes actions by Trump and Musk.
