About 33.8 percent of the 5,137 degrees and certificates handed out by Excelsior College in 2017-18 were to students in liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Albany conferred 1424 bachelor's degrees and 297 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies. Data shows the school gave out 1421 bachelor's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies, followed by 802 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse and 297 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies.

The college enrolled 30,008 students for 2017-18, including 27,207 in undergraduate programs and 2,801 in graduate programs.
