Excelsior College enrolls 27,207 undergrads

At Excelsior College, 89 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 52 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Albany enrolled 30,008 students in fall 2018, including 27,207 in undergraduate and 2,801 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

31 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 60 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (61 percent) and Black or African American (18 percent).
