DES Fifth Grade Musical “RATS! The Story of the Pied Piper” on March 8 & 9

Fifth grade students at Duanesburg Elementary School will present “RATS! The Story of the Pied Piper” this week, with 6:30 p.m. performances on both Wednesday, March 8 and Thursday, March 9 in the DES cafeteria. Admission is free for all.

The show is directed by DES music teacher Mary-Clare Waltz. DES fourth grade teacher McKenzie Ryan is the Assistant Director. DES art teacher Amanda Chovan is the Set Designer for the show, with members of the fifth grade Art Club assisting on set pieces.

SHOW SYNOPSIS:  

RATS! The town of Hamelin is overrun with them and the citizens are in a tizzy-until the mysterious Pied Piper appears, offering to solve their dilemma for a small fee. Dave and Jean Perry tell the story like never before in this fast-paced musical. The characters are charming, the dialog is witty, the songs are clever and fun to sing!
