Competition open to all middle and high school students at NY-20 school districts
WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Paul D. Tonko announced the start of this year’s Congressional App Challenge (CAC), an app competition for students in middle and high school. Officially launched by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2015, the Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide effort allowing students to compete against their peers by creating an app for mobile, tablet, or computer devices.
“Each year I am amazed by the skill and innovation of our students who apply for the Congressional App Challenge,” Congressman Tonko said. “Giving our students the tools and space to think creatively and hone their STEM and computer science knowledge is something I’ve long pushed for in Congress. I look forward to seeing this year’s applications and encourage all our students to partake in this wonderful opportunity.”
The Challenge’s submission portal is now open. Students can register and submit their applications at CongressionalAppChallenge.us until November 1st, 2023. The Challenge accepts apps written in any programming language, for any platform, and the competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience.
The winning individual or team will be chosen by an appointed panel of local expert judges, be honored with a Congressional commendation, and will be featured on CongressionalAppChallenge.us.
