Endocrinologist Dr. Susan Demarest has joined Albany Medical Center, which is part of the Albany Med Health System. Dr. Demarest brings nearly a decade of experience in the Capital Region to her new role.
Dr. Demarest specializes in gender-affirming hormone therapies for adult transgender patients and treats general endocrine disorders. She has a particular interest in diabetes management technologies, including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.
Her medical education includes a fellowship in clinical endocrinology and a residency in internal medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where she also obtained her medical degree. She holds board certifications in internal medicine as well as endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. Prior to joining Albany Medical Center, Dr. Demarest practiced with Community Care Endocrinology.
